Big Thank You to Our Outgoing PAC Members
Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) seeks the input of our patients in all that we do and recognizes their valuable perspective. In 2000, CTCA asked a group of patients to come together formally to speak on behalf of the greater patient community. The Patient Advisory Council (PAC), a group of 12 patients across the nation, meets on a quarterly basis to provide a patient’s point-of-view on upcoming initiatives at CTCA. Caregivers are also invited to join two meetings a year to share their unique perspective into the CTCA experience. As the current PAC members wrap up their two-year term, we want to share some key successes and contributions from this council.
In fall 2008, the Cancer Fighters program began an internal re-evaluation and changes were necessary to become a better resource and center of support. Through the PAC’s suggestions, CancerFighter.com now offers Chronicle Your Journey, where members can keep an online private journal, and Current Topic, for members to post and discuss their thoughts with one another. In addition, the PAC helped create two programs, the Patient-to-Patient Network and Ambassador/Hope RoundsSM, providing patients with an opportunity to connect with Cancer Fighters as a source of hope and inspiration. In addition, the PAC provided valuable input into the new CTCA advertising campaign, Care that Never Quits.
Please join us as we thank the PAC for their commitment, support and dedication. Their accomplishments will serve CTCA patients for years to come!
